Assuming that you are passionate about Wikipedia and that you have at least 2.2 GB of available space on your iPhone, you’ll be pleased to learn that a developer has developed an application to store all contents of the famous collaborative encyclopedia in memory directly from your phone! For now, only English and German versions of Wikipedia can be downloaded, but the French version will follow no doubt.
It is necessary to have a jailbroken iPhone open to third party applications to install a small software that will navigate the Wikipedia articles. Then it needs to download an image content of the encyclopedia, then transfer them to his phone. We find here an image of the English version, with articles dating back to October 2007, and is a version in German, dated January 2008.

On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress, otherwise known as 3GSM, where Apple does not appear this year, manufacturers Samsung and Broadcom has introduced new chips that it would integrate well the next generation iPhone. Both are already working with Apple, which suggests that these products might one day be integrated into the iPhone!

At Samsung, a new platform called the S3C6410 is born. Incorporating an ARM processor at 667 MHz, it also loads a module of audio and video decompression just offload the main processor during playback of multimedia files. Compatible with H.264, MPEG-4 and VC-1, it can also record videos at a resolution of 640 x 480. That would allow Apple to finally take over officially recording videos with the iPhone!

Finally, Broadcom has just introduced a new 3G chip called the BCM21551. It is compatible with the latest standards in the field of 3G, starting with HSUPA, and provide energy consumption reduction compared to previous generations. Serait-ce la puce qu’Apple attendait ? Is this the chip that Apple waited?

Indeed, it is now virtually certain that the next version of the iPhone will be 3G compatible. The Edge quickly shows its limits, and 3G is ubiquitous in Asian countries where Apple has launched its terminal in the current year. A 3G iPhone is indispensable. Some people already like to suggest a possible announcement on February 26, during what is supposed to be the release of the SDK!

According to our information, the iPhone 3G is really beautiful and real, so much has already been distributed to partner operators for testing. Unable to offer any images yet, but it seems that it adopts a design or form factor (form factor) different from the 1st generation iPhone.
